Stockholm Junior Water Prize
The Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is an international project that brings together secondary school students with a passion for water and sustainability. Each year, thousands of students from over 30 countries around the world compete with the best projects related — directly or indirectly — to water. In 2022, the Czech Republic joined the competition for the first time, with Mendel University in Brno providing official support and acting as the organiser of the national round.
MENDELU charity market (Dobrotrh)
In 2014, we decided to connect the development of students’ managerial and organisational skills with support for non-profit organisations. The enthusiasm and energy of students and lecturers involved in the Managerial Skills course at Mendel University in Brno are channelled into collecting items and selling them during the Advent season at the MENDELU Charity Market (Dobrotrh). Students choose for themselves which charities or non-profit organisations they wish to support. All proceeds from the event are donated to these good causes.
Křtiny university forest enterprise
More than 100 years of working with nature and practice. We care for our forests and approach the landscape with responsibility, drawing on over a century of experience. In addition to serving as a base for practical teaching at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology – in forestry, landscape management and wood sciences – the Křtiny University Forest Enterprise also supports scientific research and engages with the public. It promotes the aesthetic and recreational value of forests by maintaining rest areas, springs and scenic viewpoints, building reinforced forest paths and educational trails, and publishing a wide range of informative materials.
Forest pedagogy
Forest pedagogy stems from the core mission of the Masaryk Forest Křtiny University Enterprise – to serve the general public. Through this programme, we aim to introduce the forest and natural environment to anyone interested, in a simple, engaging, and meaningful way.

Veterans day collection
11th November is Veterans Day. The Mendel University Library in Brno has become a traditional collection point in support of the Post Bellum organisation. Throughout November, you can buy a red poppy as a symbol of respect — helping to preserve the stories of heroes and support those in need.
