ETUR 2025

European Sustainable Development Week 2025

European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) is a pan-European initiative to promote the idea of sustainable development. It is a festival during which a variety of events take place, such as conferences, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, film screenings, community meetings, open days and many other activities. The aim of the events is to show that we care about the future of the world we live in. European Sustainable Development Week takes place every year from 20 to 26 September. However, the events included in ETUR already run from 18 September to 8 October 2025.

24 September 2025 – Plant SWAP

The MENDELU party will include a SWAP of plants, presentations by student societies and a tour of selected university facilities.

With SWAP, you can expand your green jungle or start one. On the agenda is a SWAP of seeds, cuttings, seedlings or even surplus from the garden. Bring along a plant you may want to exchange.

 

26 September 2025 – Researchers' Night

Mysterious, unattainable and complicated. That’s how science can affect you, but not when it’s Researchers’ Night. A night when science and scientists show you their true colors. This year’s edition celebrates 20 years in the Czech Republic and will feature the theme Wealth.

 

27 September 2025 – MENDELU Run

We invite you to the 8th annual MENDELU Run, which will take place on Saturday 27 September 2025 in the Botanical Garden and Arboretum of MENDELU.

Take the opportunity to run in the beautiful Botanical Garden together with your family members, classmates or colleagues, enjoy the accompanying programme and do something for your fitness! In addition to the children's runs and the main 4 km race for students and staff, there is also a 4×1 km relay race. This race is also open to family members of employees (spouse, partner, children aged 15 and over).

There will be several age categories for children and adults. The deadline for registration is from 21 April to 24 September 2025.

Not running? Come cheer and enjoy the day with friends and colleagues! The event will be accompanied by live music and refreshments. Children can play on the bouncy castle and there is also face painting.
