The Centre for Social Responsibility and Sustainability at MENDELU brings together academics and students who are engaged in social responsibility, regional development, and sustainability.

The Centre’s mission is to strengthen and expand MENDELU’s engagement in the field of social responsibility and, through collaboration with other universities, institutions, associations, businesses, ministries, and local communities, to foster the development of social responsibility across the Czech Republic.
Educational activities
The Centre supports and develops education in social responsibility, sustainability, and regional development, with a strong emphasis on the practical application of knowledge. This includes active learning methods such as learning by doing and collaboration with experts from practice.
We promote the sharing of knowledge and experience, including new trends and teaching methods that reflect current developments in the field of social responsibility and sustainability.
Activities include joint student projects across universities, supervision and consultation on final theses, and the organisation of student competitions and exhibitions featuring projects with real-world impact.

Implementation activities
Organising public conferences and workshops focused on advancing social responsibility and sustainability in higher education.
Coordinating joint student-led activities.
Hosting public events aimed at supporting social responsibility within local communities.
Providing advisory services to public and private sector organisations in the field of social responsibility.
Cooperating with the Association of Social Responsibility, engaging with the Platform of Stakeholders for Social Responsibility, working with ministries on the development of strategic documents related to social responsibility (e.g. the National Action Plan), and collaborating with institutions and organisations in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Analysing social responsibility activities of partner universities based on internationally recognised standards (ISO 26000, GRI, etc.), and issuing recommendations for strengthening social responsibility at higher education institutions.
Producing the regular MENDELU Report on Social Responsibility and Sustainability.
