Centre for social responsibility and sustainability
Centre brings together academic and non-academic staff as well as students engaged in social responsibility, regional development, and sustainability. It also welcomes other stakeholders active in these areas or interested in getting involved — such as local communities, businesses, public institutions, associations, and NGOs. The Centre‘s mission is to strengthen and expand MENDELU’s role in the field of social responsibility and to support its development across the Czech Republic through collaboration with other universities, institutions, companies, ministries, and local communities.
Student societies
Student societies at MENDELU are a key part of student life on campus. They offer students a wide range of opportunities to build social connections and to develop their interests and skills. University societies engage in a variety of activities, including sports, the arts, volunteering, debate clubs, cultural events, and much more.
Strategic partnership
strategic partnerships are an important tool for advancing sustainability. At MENDELU, we collaborate with a wide range of key partners to achieve a shared goal — supporting the sustainable development of our planet. Our partners include local and regional authorities (e.g. the South Moravian Region and the City of Brno), research institutions (such as the Czech Academy of Sciences, TA ČR, GA ČR), international universities, and platforms such as the Bioeast Hub or Kosorica.
Memoranda
Memoranda are another important tool supporting sustainability at our university. A memorandum is an agreement between two or more parties that defines shared goals and commitments to be fulfilled. MENDELU has signed numerous memoranda with various organisations and institutions to help achieve common objectives in the field of sustainability.
Caring for the University Community
At MENDELU, we place great value on supporting our employees and students, promoting their well-being, and upholding our social responsibility. These principles define who we are and how we want to be perceived. We consider community care a key priority. Through a wide range of activities, we create opportunities for informal interaction between staff and students. We organize sports events, cultural and social gatherings, and leisure activities that help strengthen the sense of belonging within our university.
